It's been a great stretch as of late for Alex Ovechkin.

After recording his 700th goal on Saturday, additional good news was shared on Monday. His wife Nastya announced on Instagram that the family is expecting its second child. The newest baby Ovi will become the younger brother to Sergei, who is just over 18 months old.

On Tuesday, Ovechkin talked about what it will be like to add another member to the family. It is safe to say he is excited.

"It's great," Ovechkin said. "More kids, the more fun."

A household with Ovi and two young kids is sure to bring with it some exciting moments. The more Ovechkins, the better.

WASHINGTON -- The Capitals have interest in playing overseas and the NHL is working to make that happen. With Alex Ovechkin as one of the faces of Russian hockey, the team has expressed its desire to the NHL to play a regular-season game in Russia. That will not be happening next season, but it does appear an international game is in the team's future.

"We had been working on the potential of the Capitals being able to play a game [in Russia] next year and for a variety of reasons those plans didn't come together," NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly said Tuesday. Daly was on hand for Washington's game against the Winnipeg Jets in order to participate in the pregame ceremony to honor Ovechkin's 700th goal. "I think we're going to kind of work, retrench again to figure out whether there's a better strategy to try to make that happen."

The NHL frequently brings teams to Europe and even to China to play games and the Caps want in. While an international game for the 2020-21 season is unlikely, Daly noted the league is working to accommodate the team's interest in going overseas in the near future.

"I know the Caps have an interest in doing that and if not in Russia, I know they have an interest in playing internationally," Daly said, "So we're going to look to accommodate that interest for sure. Obviously, the Caps, high profile in our league, good international content. It just makes sense to bring them overseas."

It's one thing to be welcomed into the locker room by new teammates when traded to another team.

But the new Caps players have an even more important figure to become friends with:

Captain.

Luckily - at least according to Captain's Twitter account - they seem to be getting along just fine.

Hopefully, they remember the most important rule of the locker room: Treats for their new pal.
