LIHU‘E– “Four actors, Three chairs, Two throw pillows And A Gun,” will be playing at the Wit’s End Theater. Their new location is located next to “Deli & Bread Connection,” at the Kukui Grove Center.

Wit’s End, formally known as the “Women In Theatre,” is gearing up for their non-stop action play, an original written by Fran Reilly who is a novelist and sits on the WIT board of directors.

The show times are from Friday, Feb. 28 through Saturday, Feb. 29 at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, Mar. 1 at 4 p.m. The play will also run again on Mar. 5 -7 at 7 p.m. The last show will be on Sunday, Mar. 8 at 4 p.m.

Director Nell Foster explains the type of production and play that’s been in rehearsal for six weeks.

“It’s a lot of variety, fun, silliness but really good performances, music and sound effects. It’s a minimalist show with maximum fun,” Foster said. “The new theatre is a bistro style theatre, people can sit on the four top table while enjoying the show. We rebranded our name to Wit’s End because we have two men on our board now.”

There are only four actors, but they play five characters each.

According to Foster, this show is appropriate for ages 10 and up, with parental supervision.

“There are some swearing words in the play,” warned Foster.

Actor Bard Widmer plays thespian Benjamin Harris.

“He has 11,000 invested hours in acting. He is a thespian, a extraordinary… he has gravitas in the theatre. He is serious,” Widmer said.

Actress Rayna Shafter plays the character of Gabby.

“Apparently she is a phenomenal actor, she is a teen. She has stage freight; she is quirky, fun and weird. Her dream job is to work at Safeway,” said Shafter.

Actress Kaitlyn Dumaine plays the character Connie.

“Connie lives for the theatre, she loves showbiz, she loves drama. Theater is her outlet and she wants to share that,” said Dumaine.

Actor Larry Robinson plays the character of Brian.

“He is goofy and he misses his ex. He plays different roles like a gangsta and a trillionaire,” said Robinson.

Cass Foster, stage manager and husband of the director, said the play is the “feel good comedy of the year”.

“Even though she is my wife, I have to give her a lot of credit, she manages to put everything together so it looks like a polished well seasoned piece of theatre. The actors are highly experienced and highly confident, ” Cass Foster said.

The new theatre provides popcorn, coffee, soda and homemade cookies. A cozy atmosphere for all and tickets are available and can be bought online at: www.witkauai.org.
