MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A 15-year-old is facing several felony charges after he was caught on camera speeding away from police by cutting through a crowded park.
The teen drove over a sidewalk and through a park to get to closed Ocean Drive where he continued speeding away from authorities, according to the Miami Beach Police Department.
He was later arrested near 6 Street and Washington Ave. after hitting a motorcycle officer and trying to hit another, MBPD reports.
No officers were injured in the attempts, police said.
Several passengers bailed out of the speeding stolen car and all but two were detained. Detectives are searching for the two that got away.
Officials have not yet released the teen’s identity.
