A date has been set aside just to celebrate kids.
The Brownstown Township Downtown Development Authority has designated Aug. 25 as Kids Day and four hours of festivities have been planned.
The free afternoon of activities will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Brownstown Event Center, 23345 King Road.
Among other highlights, the township’s Police and Fire departments will engage with children and the Downriver West Kiwanis is setting up a game zone with old fashioned kid’s games.
Also setting up a spot at the event for games and giveaways will be Advantage One Credit Union, Sportway of Brownstown, Henry Ford Health Center-Brownstown, Texas Roadhouse and Rev’d Up Fun.
Kids also will have a chance to Chalk the Walk with the Brownstown Parks and Recreation Department from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
