CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Festive cheer abounds in Northeast Ohio this time of year -- and we’ve got the scoop on some of the holiday events taking place in the region.

There are plenty of ways to get in the holiday spirit this season in Cleveland; just be sure to bring your winter coat.

Visit with Santa, Mrs. Kringle, Mr. Jingeling or Krampus. Ice skate in the heart of downtown Cleveland. View millions of holiday lights in iconic locations. Rock out to some Christmas classics at local venues.

Here are a few ideas on events to check out around town, before 2021 wraps up:

wild winter lights at the cleveland zoo

With more than a million lights on display at the Wild Winter Lights at the Cleveland Zoo, there’s plenty to see as you walk, or drive, through the display that will be open through January 2, 2022. Wild Winter lights at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo

This annual holiday light spectacular features over one million individual lights illuminating hundreds of displays spread across the zoo. There are also carousel rides, costumed characters, model train displays, ice carvers, live music, a dazzling light show with a 50-foot tree and photos with Santa, of course. Tickets, $18-$20. Drive-through experience available on select dates for $54-$60 per vehicle.

Cleveland metal record shop Black Market will host two shopping events at the Foundry Concert Club this season: a Black Friday sale and show and a holiday night market.

The Black Friday event, set for Nov. 26, will include memorabilia, shirts, records, stickers and more for sale from Black Market, while a few guest vendors will join. Holiday Celebrations in Peninsula

This charming town in the heart of Cuyahoga Valley National Park will hold a tree lighting on the Bronson Green followed by a program of holiday music and a candlelight walk down Main Street where shops will be selling their wares and strolling carolers sing festive music. Cleveland Jazz Orchestra presents “Sing a Song for the Holidays”

Avant-Garde Art & Craft Shows

These shows in Solon and Avon spotlight artists and crafters selling their original handmade items. Concession stands will offer food and a portion of the proceeds will go to benefit local nonprofits. Tickets are $3 though kids under 12 years old get in free.

“A Brewer’s Eve”
