It was the first time the event was held since 2019 and the night was filled with the sounds of hoops as the Murray State basketball teams were introduced.
Racer Mania is the event that signals the official start of the basketball seasons for the Murray State Racers. The seasons were brought in by booming music and videos, cheering, dancing, scrimmages, staff playing a game of Knockout, player 3-point contest, dunk contest and free schedule posters. Each Murray State team had student-athletes handing out trick-or-treat candy to children who attended in their Halloween costumes.
The mixed men's and women's 3-point contest was won by Katelyn Young and Tevin Brown and Trae Hannibal won the dunk contest.
The 2021-22 season gets going Monday (Nov. 1) when the Racer women's team hosts Trevecca Nazarene at 5 p.m. and the men's team takes on Brescia at 7 p.m. The 55th season of Racer women's basketball begins (Nov. 9) at home against Asbury in an early 11 a.m. tip. The men's team opens its 97th season at home on the same day at 7 p.m. against Cumberland. Ohio Valley Conference play arrives (Dec. 30) when the Racers host Southeast Missouri in a doubleheader at the CFSB Center. The season will be the 74th in the OVC for men's basketball and the 45th for OVC women's basketball.
Mini-Ticket Plans Available
Fans can purchase season tickets and the Navy & Gold Mini ticket plans at Racer Mania. The mini plans are a great way for Racer Nation to enjoy Murray State games with general admission tickets. Each mini plan is $50 for one general admission ticket to five games. All of the games offered in the ticket plans are doubleheaders except for the stand-alone men's game vs Middle Tennessee (Dec. 4). Call the ticket office at (270) 809-3000 to purchase a ticket plan.

2021-22 Basketball Season Game Day Notes
- Murray State University is planning to operate games at the CFSB Center at full capacity this season.
- Currently, masks are required inside all buildings on the campus of Murray State University, including the CFSB Center.
- Murray State University will continue to closely monitor the latest health and safety guidelines from the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the Calloway County Health Department.
- Regardless of vaccination status, all guests, staff and vendors will be required to wear a mask that covers the nose and mouth while in the CFSB Center.
- Fans will not be required to show proof of vaccination to enter.
- Children two years old and younger will not be required to wear a mask.
- The Racer Club meal ($12 per person) in the Murray Room opens 90 minutes prior to tip-off of all men's games for members that are at the Stallion ($700) Level and higher.
- The Pockets halftime hospitality service opens to Racer Club members at the Thoroughbred Level ($1,500) and higher in the Upper-D concessions area of the arena beginning with five minutes remaining in the first half and closing with 15 minutes remaining in the second half.
- Murray State Athletics is proud to partner with Txt Commander for anonymous, real-time text communication during events.
- Fans can text the MSUAD Operations staff at any time; before, during, or after a game, to report any incidents, facility issues, venue emergencies, or feedback on their experience. Text 270-809-3369, to interact with the Racer staff.
- Fans are asked to enter the CFSB Center through any one of three gates: Upper-A, Upper-B and Upper-C.
- The Lower-A entrance (Ticket lobby) will be used for ticket purchases.
- Will Call will be located inside the Upper-A lobby.
- Gameday walk-up tickets can be purchased at Lower-A and Upper-B entrances.
- Entry to the court level will not be permitted from Lower-A.
- Floor access will be limited to credentialed personnel only.
